Mitaki Temple - Established about 1,200 years ago for an austere lifestyle by Kobo Daishi (Kukai), who also founded Mt. Misen, and the Daishoin Temple in Miyajima. Once you visit Mitaki Temple you will find yourself transported to a mysterious past time. Everyone enjoys Mitaki temple for the following reasons:
  • Seasonal Beauty -- The Temple allows a person to experience its beauty with heightened senses – You will walk on stones put in place 1,200 years ago. For all the seasons, Mitaki Temple allows you to  enjoy the great greenery, autumn leaves, or snowing quietness. The Temple is recognized  as the most famous location to view the autumn leaves in Hiroshima.
  • The 1,200-year history has resulted in a lot of stone statues and monuments, and the structures and atmosphere are very different from ordinary temples. This tour will  explore all of them, while allowing you to understand (and practice) the traditional Japanese temple worship culture.

Shukkeien Garden - This garden is the most famous Japanese garden in Hiroshima. Designed and developed by Soko Ueda,  a master of tea ceremony. The garden opened about 400 years ago with tea houses. ”Shukkeien” means "Miniaturized Scenery Garden" and is a circuit-style garden where a pond is arranged in the center with small islands, simulated mountains, valleys, bridges and Japanese style structures to sit and enjoy the sights.
Shukkeien Garden offers incredibly beautiful views which can be enjoyed through all four seasons.
